Alice Ida Merrill

Alice Ida Merrill was born on September 28 1919 in Minneapolis; the fifth of seven children. She passed away peacefully on October 07 2017 after reaching her 98th birthday. Her lifetime spanned the Great Depression and WWII making her part of the Greatest Generation. She lived most of her life living in the Twin Cities area but also lived in Arizona and spent over 20 years living near Dassel MN. Preceded in death by her husband Donald granddaughter Jennifer and all six of her brothers and sisters. Her father passed away when she was in high school. Survived by her children Scott Donn and LeeAnn; grandchildren Mychal Matthew Alex and Patrick and great-granddaughter Olivia. Alice was a polite happy cheerful person who was a loving and caring wife and mother. She loved sewing and still used her sewing machine when she was in her middle 90's. A graveside service will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at 11:05 AM on Thursday October 19 2017. Family and friends should arrive at Fort Snelling assembly area #1 by 10:45 AM. All are invited to have lunch at Bucca di Beppo 2728 Gannon Road St. Paul MN following the graveside service.
