March 2, 1947 — January 15, 2024

Barbara Kaye Crandall, 76; of St. Michael MN was called home by her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Barbara was born March 2, 1947; the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Cooper) Helmel. She was united in marriage to Bennie Allen Crandall on December 21, 1963. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past December 2023.

Barbara enjoyed being a homemaker, and raising their three children at the home Bennie provided for; and still resides in. As her children grew, Barbara used her sewing skills to start her own slipcover business. She and her business partner visited many luxurious homes to recover and refresh outdated furniture. As years went by, she found caring for children as her calling; and spent many years as a personal nanny for several families. Once Bennie retired, they modified their home to accommodate the elderly as a licensed elder care facility. Barbara loved caring for others, always giving of herself.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and leaves behind in this time of grace her husband Bennie; their three children Kim Rochelle Bernthal ( David), Cindy Ann Bruckbauer  (Robert), Michael Jeffrey Crandall ( Jessica Marshall). Barbara was especially proud of her nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, with another little blessing on the way.

Celebration of life and memorial service will be held on Barbara’s birthday, March 2, 2024; with visitation to be held from 1pm-2pm. Service begins at 2pm with an afternoon lunch to follow. Please join the family at Grace Lutheran Church; 460 75th Ave NE, Fridley MN.

In lue of flowers, Barbara’s family would appreciate contributions to the CLC Mission Fund, care of Grace Fridley Lutheran Church@ 460 75th Avenue NE, Fridley MN 55432. This fund provides for overseas mission work to the souls who may not otherwise hear the gift of salvation through our eternal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! This was Barbara’s passion, a giving and kind woman; a faithful servant of the Lord. May the Lord bless and keep the faithful, as He has Barbara; Amen.

Words of condolence and encouragement may be sent to the Crandall family at 1830 Hansack Avenue North, St Michael, MN 55376, care of Bennie Crandall.
