Cameron Benjamin Popowitz

Cameron Benjamin Popowitz, born Jade Cameron Popowitz, 23, passed away June 26, 2026.  He was born April 7, 2003 in Portland, Oregon to David Popowitz and Jenny (Schonhardt) Owens. Cameron was a miracle baby, born premature with a heart condition.

Cameron’s family moved to Tuscan, AZ where they attended high school. They graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School early; an amazing feat for a child that wasn’t expected to live long after they were born.

Art was Cameron’s life. They loved it and were incredibly gifted in multiple mediums. Cameron was an incredible writer, writing books and poems, a talented painter, and an amazing sketch artist. It was their true passion. Cameron was considering becoming a tattoo artist and even designed some of their own tattoos.

Grateful for having shared in their life is their mother, Jenny (Steve Gustafson) Owens; sister, Sage Popowitz; grandparents, Tom & Ruth Schonhardt and Gloria & Mark Popowitz; aunt, Marjie Popowitz; and uncle, Adam Popowitz. Cameron will also be missed by his bonus parents, Blake Owens and Amber Nord, both of whom loved, supported, and helped raise them through their life. They were preceded in death by their father, David Popowitz.
