Daniel Albert Gourde

Daniel Albert Gourde, 82, Fridley, MN, passed away February 18, 2026. Dan was born in Grafton, ND, and raised in Oakwood, ND.

Early in his life he helped his dad and relatives on their family farms. He graduated from ND State School of Science, served two years in the US Army, and graduated from the University of North Dakota with an Accounting Degree, using his GI Bill benefits. His lifelong career was in Accounting & Finance and also served as a Board of Director for many non-profit institutions. He was a member of the Fridley Lions Club for over 25 years, serving as Treasurer for 11 years. Dan was a volunteer with AARP for over 15 years, preparing tax returns for seniors and low-income tax payers. He enjoyed horseshoes and played on competitive horseshoe leagues for over 40 years.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Verna; and brothers, Paul & Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 53 years; sons Justin of Fessenden, ND, Ryan (Julia) of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and Troy (Laura) of Minneapolis, MN; and grandchildren, Lucas, Savannah, Autumn, Daisy, and Daphne. He is also survived by sisters, Donna Zils of Spanaway, WA and Phylis Fredickson of Grafton, ND; and brothers, Kevin & Gerard, both of Fargo, ND.

Service and visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Church of St. Williams of Fridley, MN.  Visitation will begin at 10.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11.  Luncheon will follow the mass.  Inurnment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
