David (Dave) Lawrence Baack

On March 17 surrounded by his family, Dave 71 passed away peacefully from Lewy Body Dementia.

Dave was born on October 20, 1952 in Le Mars, IA to Lawrence Fred (Larry) & Evelyn Luetta (Nee: Hansen) Baack. The family moved to Worthington, MN. Dave graduated from Worthington High School in 1971. He married Diane Marie (Nee: Mitchell) Baack on June 23, 1973.

Dave received his Associates Degree in Mechanical Design Engineering from Anoka Technical College.

Dave loved playing guitar especially John Denver while camping around the campfire at Sherwood Forest. He loved riding his motorcycle and making people laugh. He was active in coaching sports, president of Sherwood Forest Association, president of the Ramsey Youth Athletic Association (RYAA). He loved watching the Vikings play football even though they stunk and loved watching the Twins play baseball.

One of his greatest joys was sharing his birthday with his daughter Michelle. He said he would never be able to have another birthday cake again, but Diane made sure both had birthday cakes. The other greatest joy was the birth of his son Joshua. Dave bought a right handed mitt and baseball when Joshua was 2 months old. Which turned out to be never used since Joshua played all sports left handed.

When Michelle gave birth to Samuel the oldest of the grandchildren Dave was so excited. Dave and Sam were inseparable best buddies along with Sam's dog Percy. Then Emily his first granddaughter was born Dave said his heart filled with so much love. A year later Skyler Joshua's oldest daughter was born. Dave said he couldn't believe how much a person could love a newborn on sight. His youngest granddaughter Daphne was born and Dave again said his heart filled with such love that he couldn't put it into words. Dave said his children were the best thing he and Diane created together because they gave him his grandchildren.

Throughout his life Dave made so many friends and became a bonus father and grandfather to so many. He was very loved and will be greatly missed.

Dave is survived by his wife Diane, daughter Michelle & Adam Weiner, grandson Samuel, granddaughter Emily. Son Joshua & Katie Baack, granddaughters Skyler & Daphne. Sister's Sheryl Cacace & Don Paolino, Sharlene & Jerry Ebbers, Sonya & Randy Trelstad and brother Darwin & Kathy Baack.
