A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 11th at Celebration Lutheran Church - 1500 Pine Code Road North, Sartell, MN for Emily Brix, age 28, who passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2025. Visitation begins at 10am, with a service at 11am and light lunch to follow. Pastor Jeff will officiate.
Emily was born on May 5, 1997 in St. Cloud, MN to Darren and Jennifer (Olson) Brix. She graduated from Sartell High School in 2015 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of St. Thomas in 2019. During college, Emily interned at PMG/FlexTrades and continued with the company after graduation, progressing into a Senior Operations Analyst. In 2024, she moved into a Sales Analyst role at Mortenson. Those who worked with Emily appreciated her keen mind, positive attitude, and willingness to help however she could.
Those lucky enough to know Emily outside of work appreciated her even more. She had a rare authenticity – always true to herself and accepting of everyone she met. Emily was never one to judge and had a smile and way about her that made everyone feel welcome in her presence. An animal lover, she volunteered at Lucky’s Place cat shelter in Princeton and had three cats of her own, Pawl, Patty, and Penny, whom she adored and may have spoiled just a little bit. Although Emily could be soft-spoken, her approach to life spoke volumes. She never turned down a challenge and was always the friend that said “let’s do it” – whether it was learning to ski and wake surf as an adult, traveling internationally (sometimes with less than 24 hours’ notice), attending music festivals, cheering on the Vikings/Twins/Wild/Timberwolves, hiking (Half Dome!!), Polar Plunging, or any of the other myriad of adventures she enjoyed – Emily soaked it all in with a smile. She greeted the world with curiosity, joy, and an open heart, finding beauty in every new horizon. Emily was inspired by lyrics from an Avicii song: ”One day you’ll leave this world behind, so live a life you will remember.” She certainly did, and we hope she inspires you to do the same.
Emily will be dearly missed by her parents, Darren and Jennifer Brix of Sartell; brother, Benjamin (Kaylah) Brix of Spokane, WA; grandmother, Doris Brix of St. Cloud; aunts and uncles, Daniel Brix of St. Cloud, DeAnn (Tim) Schreifels of Rogers, and Debbie (Jason) Stang of Buffalo; and cousins, Alex and Erin Schreifels, and Jacob and Ellie Stang. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, David Brix, and Ralph and Kay Olson.
