James Douglas "Jim" Sachs, age 42, of Blaine, passed away unexpectedly on January 2nd, 2024. He was born on October 18th, 1981, in South Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Joann Sachs and Michael Helget. At age 12, he moved to Stillwater, MN, with Joann Sachs and Jon Woldsnes as his stepfather, later joining Taylor Woldsnes on April 18th, 1994, "his brother."
He graduated from Stillwater High School, Class of 2001. Jim was exceptionally talented and intelligent from a young age, excelling in art, music, and technology. Throughout his life, he created numerous art projects and poetry that were always appreciated by his family and friends. Some of his art was displayed and awarded at the Art Center in high school.
His pride and joy were acquiring his 1977 Volkswagen Transporter, in which he toured with the Grateful Dead and attended many music festivals, including 'Bonnaroo,' with his close friends.
His mother, Joann Sachs, was always by his side, and his brother, Taylor Woldsnes, shared many moments playing video games, enjoying music, and working together at Performance Pool and Spa, where Jim worked as a pool and spa technician. Taylor was proud of how quickly his brother caught on, showing up for work every day ready for any job.
James is survived by his mother (Joann Sachs), brother (Taylor Woldsnes), cousins (Derek Sachs, Dana Sachs, Cathy Block), and other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his dearly loved grandmother, Florence Sachs.
A celebration of life will be held at the John Rice VFW in Blaine, Minnesota, at noon on January 19th, 2024. James Sachs will be greatly missed and never forgotten by his family and friends.
