Kathryn Lea (Widell) Rick Beloved mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, and friend died peacefully on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021 at age 64. Kathy was born on May 16th, 1957 to parents, Raymond and Bernice Widell and grew up in Esko, MN where she graduated from Esko public schools and later went on to secondary training at the Duluth Vocational Tech and studied in Secretarial. She used her training and spent most of her life working from home doing medical transcription on the computer. Kathy was married to her husband Roald Rick for 38 years who she met during her schooling in Duluth, and they got married in her childhood home in Esko, MN. They lived in northern MN for a few years until they moved to Lino Lakes for Ron's job relocation. Kathy and Ron were married a few years and then had a daughter named Breanna Kathryn and Kathy was blessed to work at home and take care of her. Kathy was blessed to grow up in a Christian family with her mother Bernice, father Ray and younger sister Debbie. Kathy and her husband Ron both grew up in the faith and passed it on to their daughter and made it part of their lives. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Ray Widell; and her infant brother, James. Kathy is survived by her husband, Ron Rick of Lino Lakes; daughter, Breanna Duncan; grandson, Peter Duncan; sister, Debbie (Mike) Prachar of Esko; Niece, Andrea King; nephew, Scott Prachar of Esko; and many other nieces and nephews. Kathy lived a full life up until 2020 where she started facing some major health issues and challenges where she was forced to no longer be in her home full time and she was ultimately put in to Park River Estates nursing home in Coon Rapids, MN in August 2021. She was suffering from congestive heart failure, respiratory failure, and acute liver disease not alcohol related which ultimately took her life. Kathy lived a great life here on earth and is no longer in pain and is in the arms of Jesus. Amen A Memorial Service or gathering will be held at a later date.
