Kay Ann Hall

August 6, 1949 — August 9, 2023

Maple Grove

Kay Hall, age 74, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on August 9, 2023 surrounded by her daughters. Born August 6, 1949 in Minneapolis, she graduated from Richfield High School. She attended Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated from St. Cloud State with her teaching degree. She obtained a master's degree in teaching from the University of MN.

Teaching was her passion. She loved working with kids and enjoyed teaching 4th and 6th graders for 37 years. She was quick witted, spontaneous, and fun but organized she was not.

Kay was a devoted mother to her 3 daughters; Amanda (Bob) Paschke, Allison (Kip) Golden, and Emily (Jared) Campbell. She adored her 10 grandchildren; Ben, Breanna, Ella, Carter, Alliyah, Jaymick, Malayna, Graham, Morgan, and Byron. Nothing brought Kay more joy than cheering on her children and grandchildren in their sporting events, concerts, and recitals.

Kay was richly blessed with close friendships in her life. She adored lunches, coffee dates and traveling with friends, especially winters in Key Largo and her all-time favorite trip to London. Kay was a master quilter and skilled seamstress, a skill she graciously shared with her family mending children’s clothes and altering prom dresses. She enjoyed creating beautiful gardens and spent many hours in her garden with friend Tom McCormack.

Kay loved living in her home on Eagle Lake. She was most comfortable with a dog on her lap, a Dr. Pepper in her hand, and a view of the lake. Friends and family were always welcome at Grandma Kay’s lake house where she always kept a freezer full of treats! So many memories were made on Eagle Lake; fishing, tubing, jet skiing, pontoon rides, and 4th of July boat parades. Kay will be remembered by her generous love and grace shown to all.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude and thanks to Dr. Rahmatullah, nurse Neil Zimpfer, and the staff at Mercy hospital for the loving care provided over the last 3 years. She surprised us all when she defied all odds graduating hospice. We are so grateful to have been given extra time with our beloved mother. Funeral services will be 1pm Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Plymouth Covenant Church, 4300 Vicksburg Lane N., Plymouth, MN 55446.  Visitation 1 hour before service and a reception will immediately follow.
