Kenneth "Ken" Vinge

Kenneth Vinge, 82, of Coon Rapids passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on July 25 at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 8211 Red Oak Drive, Mounds View. On July 16, 1933, Kenneth Allan Vinge was born to Knute and Bernice Ardella Olson Vinge in Houston Co., Mn. He was united with the love of his life, Sandra Schaefer on Feb. 26, 1962, in Miles City, MT. Together; they would travel to many different places including AZ. & CA. Ken worked for 4 years as a pastor before returning to school to earn his master's degree in Far Eastern Studies inspired by a year spent living in Taiwan. He would later teach at Irondale H.S. in the WECEP program until retiring at the age of 62. There he would be coaching football & basketball also. In his free time, he loved anything outdoors whether it was skiing in his younger years, to spending countless hours in his flower garden. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra; children, Hans, Stephanie Allan Walsh, Jon Stacy, Per Wendy; 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother. Memorials preferred to Abiding Savior Lutheran Church.
