Age 39
Blaine, Minnesota
Shaldon left us too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support for his family, friends, and—most of all—animals. He lived a life of adventure, finding joy in hiking, camping, photography and especially ice cream all while nurturing a deep and lifelong passion for animals. That passion took him throughout Minnesota and across the United States, as well as to Cambodia, Turks and Caicos, and the Galápagos Islands.
Shaldon’s love for animals began at a young age and led him to a fulfilling career at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center, along with other organizations where he formed countless friendships and lasting relationships. His dedication led him to many animal rescue adventures, spending countless hours with Leech Lake Legacy (Leech Lake, Minnesota), and The Wild Cat Sanctuary (Sandstone, Minnesota), among others.
Shaldon was preceded in death by his father, Donald; his grandparents, Edward and Lillian Berndt, and Richard and Donna Bray.
Survived by his best friend, Dori; his mother, Sandra; his siblings, Shawn (Tammy), Shannon (Tony), and Shane (Ciarra); his nephews, Sam and Jayden; and a close-knit group of lifelong friends and family members who loved him dearly.
Shaldon will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
