Grant, Nola "Kitty" M.

During Kitty' childhood she lived in Anoka MN, the State of Oregon (she loved it on the ocean) and Backus MN on her family resort.

As a teenager Kitty worked on cars with her brothers and then Mom started racing cars. Mom raced cars for many years on Minnesota Drag ways, she loved the thrill of racing and so did we when we rode in the car with her!

At age 19, Kitty married Robert W. Grant. Before us kids came along, Mom and Dad drove semi-truck as a team across the US.

As a young adult, Age 18 to 28, Mom was a Nurse at the Anoka State Hospital for a challenging all women psychiatric unit.

In 1961, Age 28, Mom worked at several Twin Cities Honeywell plants. Mom retired from Honeywell. While working at Honeywell she worked 14 years in the Honeywell Ordnance Division assembly lines making dangerous material for the military such as special weapons, torpedo production, M60 tank-kit and bombs. She was an expert welder, assembly line worker and produced heavy furnace parts.

During this time Mom raised four kids while working full time.

Dad passed very young when three of us were still teenagers.

Mom had a lot on her hands raising three teenagers and did the very best she could.

Mom loved: The lake, fishing, boating, fixing things with her soldering skills, mechanics, her vehicles, tools, House on the Rock in Wisconsin, Chinese buffets, volunteer work for Planning and Zoning on Beebe Lake in St Michael MN, remodeling homes she lived in, small dogs, music, birds, flowers, plants, plays, Mom played piano, organ and concertina by ear.

Survived by children, Tommy Grant, Penny Dayle Grant, Dean Grant and Suzie Grant; grandchildren, Robert Grant, Kitty Ann Olson, Jeffrey Grant, Jason Thick, Jami Thick and Autumn Sambrano; great and great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Charity for donations: Non-profit Operation Smile Mom loved seeing the children smile after their operations.
