Roger James (Jim) Paine, age 74, of Cambridge passed on November 4th, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Genny, and brother, Denny. He is survived by life partner, Dorothy (Dot), his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, along with other relatives and many close friends.
Jim graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1964. He enlisted and honorably served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a gunner on a PBR riverboat. He had a successful business career at York. Jim had a passion for the outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, and countless annual events with many lifelong friends.
Jim was an avid athlete and loved running. He ran in many local events and successfully finished the Boston Marathon in 1991. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, and watching the Twins and Vikings. He loved going to the races with brother Denny, to which the Indy 500 was their grand hurrah. At the end of every day, Jim was famous for saying he would have "just one more" beer. He was always looking forward to the next opportunity to entertain others and make more memories.
We look forward to celebrating Jim's life at a date to be determined in 2021.

RIP Great Uncle Jimmy. My mom, Roxanne, is so heartbroken that she couldn't be with you by your side. I've heard so many great stories about the two of you. I wish we could have said goodbye. I know you and grandpa Dennis are partying up there. You will be missed dearly. Love you.

My heart is broken! Uncle Jimmy had so many friends, I knew this day was coming but not so fast. I have a lifetime of memories with him that ill keep tightly tucked in my heart until we meet again. its killing me that I couldn't be with him, being in Seattle is so hard. So thankful I got to be with him for his surgery in July and our trip to Florida in Feb. I know a lot of his friends and if you would like to reach out to me, i would love that. RIP Uncle Jimmy I know your not in pain anymore. I Love You, Give Dad, Grandma and Grandpa a Big Hug and Kiss for me. I know you are all celebrating up there. email@example.com
